Helen Pokrovska

Hi, I am Helen, a professional contemporary and aerial dancer. I graduated from dance/ choreography department of Amsterdam High Theatre School (AHK). I was working as a dancer and choreographer for different dance and aerial companies in Europe and South East Asia for the last 10 years.

 

Four years ago I also became a Master Bungee Workout instructor. Teaching bungee dance is my passion. I love working with students of all levels and skills: I was teaching bungee to amateurs and professionals in Bangkok, Moscow and Los Angeles. No matter who I’m teaching, I thrive on seeing my students grow and develop as they discover what they can achieve.

 

My teaching style focuses on skills training, but also emphasizes self-exploration and discovering a passion for something new, especially with such an amazing tool as bungee. Make every lesson count and you will learn how to fly in no time!

Bungee workout is

Bungee technique gives the body feeling of flying and because of that creates lots of dopamine (happiness hormone) in the system.

So all participants can expect to not only to get absolutely fit but also feel elevated and super happy after classes!

In my group lessons, you can be assured of plenty of individual attention and focus.

  • low-impact for joints and spine fitness program.

-Theory (safe equipment handling, health benefits of bungee training, anatomy)

-Learning bungee technique and practicing of different difficulty elements

-Learning how to create choreography or combinations of those elements

-Teaching practice with clients under the guidance of Master Trainer

-Manual with the description of all the elements, theoretical information and 2 examples of choreographies

    Bungee Dance/Fit is a new concept in fitness industry that combines cardio and resistance training. It is a high intensity workout but has low impact on the joints and spine. Bungee Dance/Fit is a great training tool for beginners who care about their health, but is also ideal for professional athletes and dancers. The bungee cord engages your core throughout the training, strengthening your abdominal muscles and the small internal muscle stabilizers. As a full body training, results include stronger muscles and a leaner physique. Bungee Dance/Fit also improves coordination and endurance.
  • “Can I benefit from making Bungee Dance/Fit my favorite sport or exercise activity?""
    The answer is yes. “How can Bungee Dance/Fit support me in my other fitness activities?” Runners can develop their speed and strength through Bungee Dance/Fit as training with the bungee cords improves stamina. CrossFit fans can use Bungee Dance/Fit to increase explosiveness in their moves. Pilates lovers can build core stability faster than during normal floor trainings.     Nope! The Bungee Dance/Fit is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Each training is divided by level of intensity into beginner, intermediate, and advanced. So you can find a level that works best for you! If you're unsure if you are beginner, intermediate, or advanced, please feel free to contact me and I can guide you. (And if you or someone you know is a kid, I offer special Bungee Kids trainings for children of different age groups).
  • “Is Bungee Dance/Fit dangerous? Can I do it if I have been injured?
    Bungee Dance/Fit is a low impact training, and is used by physiotherapists in recovery programs for patients with knee, ankle or spine injuries. For health and safety reasons, Bungee Dance/Fit activities are not available to people who are currently pregnant, have experienced a head injury, or who suffer from a severe heart condition. If you're not sure bungee activities are right for you, please feel free to contact me with questions.
  • “What should I wear for Bungee Dance/Fit?”
    For Bungee Dance/Fit activities you should wear comfortable sports clothes. A harnas will connect you to the bungee cord, so sweat pants, leggings or bicycle shorts are best. Extra bicycle shorts will be provided as needed. Adjustments to the bungee harness can also be made for comfort and ease of movement.
  • “What is the cancellation policy?”
    Bungee Dance/Fit courses are in high demand, and my goal is to give all interested students the chance to experience them. For this reason, I have a strict cancellation policy. You can cancel a session 48 hours before for a full refund. All later cancellations will not be refunded.
